We are finally there: The Isle of Wight!
Cowes ... lot´s of myths and lot´s of the worlds best sailing instruction is taking place here. Read about it ... heard about it ... seen documentaries about it ... NOW I am here°! It feels great great great :-)
Our cruise along the Solent and the English Challenge ... oooopps I meant the English Channel ... does take all of our full attention. Things change quickly: Do we have enough water below the keel? Where´s the tidal stream setting?? Are we the stand-on vessel??? Did I pick the right chimney for my three point fix???? Where is the leading light on a night pilotage into Lymington Harbour????? .... which direction does the tide set us ... and ... we can go on and and on and on ...
But this is real fun sailing. Never, never is there nothing to do: putting on the kettle, checking the COLREG´s, taking pictures. A pro pos ... yesterday ... sailing into the western Solent entrance: the Needles! Sunset! ... and the Camera went dead. Well, got to be well aware of the present moment and enjoy it. That´s why I can´t show you my spectacular view of the Needles. And just trust me, it was one of my ever highlights! So you will have to see me, again, to get the picture passed on ... hahaha Since my technology is failing me now, you will have to put up with a pic I took last week when I was a tourist in Portsmouth: the Spinnaker. It´s not bad, either, but it´s nothing like what we are experiencing this week.
Well and now I will let you enjoy ... just like I am doing, now. Because I have berthed now in a wonderful bar in Cowes!° Where the people are friendly and open minded. Today I am 17531 days. And I meet people who for example claim to have information, that we have had mobile phones for the last 2.000 years already. Leaving it at that ... well, the music is good and people are enthusiastic ... that´s my world ... life is good! Tomorrow at 0800 I will be one day older. I am pinching one eye. Love
